Communities across Milton Keynes, Bedford and Leighton Buzzard are set to benefit from new learning opportunities.
The news comes after MK Dons Sport & Education Trust (SET) banked £29,721 from the Santander Foundation to fund three regional learning hubs.
The charity has kicked off the project by searching for local ‘ambassadors’ who will be involved in mapping out plans and help to identify spaces and venues for the hubs to meet and for activities to take place. The funding from the Santander Foundation will mean that the charity can deliver a range of courses to local residents aimed at helping them to gain important life skills and qualifications.
Angie Warde, Director of Education at MK Dons SET said: “This is a really important project for local communities and we are very grateful for the financial support and expertise that the Santander Foundation is able to provide in order to be able to reach a significant number of people in our region.”
Maria Piascik, Learning Consultant at Santander said: “The Santander Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes around the UK to support disadvantaged people through education and training projects. We are delighted to be involved in such an innovative project and I hope that the communities involved will find the learning hubs of great benefit.”
