A French bakery brand which selected Milton Keynes as its first choice for a UK production plant, has welcomed the start of building work this week.
Brioche Pasquier applied for planning permission in June last year for a 160,000 sq ft factory on a site in Wymbush. Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Brian White, told the Citizen he was pleased to see groundbreaking work had begun on the ‘state-of-the-art’ development.
Mr White said: “They have been selling in the UK to supermarkets for about 10 years but decided they wanted a production building in Milton Keynes.
“It’s a typical MK kind of business; a small company with great aspirations and it’s going to bring 160 jobs to MK.”
