Milton Keynes Freemasons have pledged their support to help fight multiple sclerosis.

The members of the Masonic Centre in Bletchley have joined a campaign to assist people in the New City and across Thames Valley who have the condition.

Regular contributions have been made by the nine lodges and three chapters in Bletchley. This has enabled it to make a £15,000 donation to the Chiltern MS Centre in Wendover.

The donation helped the centre become immediately operational rather than having to wait before it opened.

Clifford Drake, the deputy head of MK and Bucks Freemasons, was delighted with his team’s support.

He said: “I thank every one of the MK Freemasons who has made this work possible.

“They have lived up magnificently to our ideals of friendship, decency, and charity.”

Jo Woolf, chief executive of the MS Centre, was equally supportive.

She added: “The support of MK Freemasons for such a wide range of equipment is invaluable and has enabled us to achieve so much so soon for so many.”
