'˜More needs to be done' to prevent dog fouling in Milton Keynes

A furious mother has slammed the council claiming they '˜do nothing' to help prevent dog fouling.

The single mother-of-two, who did not want to be named, is ‘outraged’ at the lack of action.

She said: “The council put up a sign with the number of dog fouling incidents in the area, it has been up to 148 in just one week.

“I have CCTV outside my house which has caught people letting their dog to foul on the street and not pick it up.
“I offered the pictures to the council to try find the culprit they just told me it is ‘not a priority’ - it’s ridiculous.

“It’s people like me who pay extra tax to clean up after other people’s dog, they clearly have no respect for the area.

“My argument is simple, if there’s proof then ask the public for help to identify the offenders and fine them.”

A spokesperson from MK Council said: “Sadly some people still think it is OK not to pick up after their dog.

“We don’t have unlimited resources to track these people down, so we do have to prioritise.

“However if anyone can give us any more concrete information about people leaving dog mess, such as an address, we can look into it.”
