A FAMILY was held at knife-point as two men broke into their home and made off with a large amount of gold jewellery.
Officers were called to the house on Tolcarne Avenue in Fishermead on Monday after thieves threatened a 41-year-old woman, two boys aged 15 and 17, an 18-year-old man and a three-year-old girl, demanding cash and jewellery, which was handed over by the victims.
Det Con Jesse Cousen, investigating, said: “This was a terrifying attack on the residents of this property in which a mother and her children were threatened with violence unless they handed over valuables. It appears these criminals targeted this house because they knew a substantial amount of gold and cash was kept at the property.”
Any witnesses should call 0800 555 1111.
