MP Mark Lancaster, recently joined BTCV on its Milton Keynes Railway Conservation project aimed at clearing spaces on the disused railways around the city.
Mark joined the Railways Conservation project which was working in Newport Pagnell, to clear shrubs and restore the woodchip path in the park area at the back of Sheppards Close running close to the allotments.
The project is aimed at ensuring green spaces are created as pleasant community areas and not used for anti social behaviour.
BTCV also run a “Green Gym” where volunteers exercise while helping to clear areas and these have proved extremely popular.
Mr Lancaster, said: “This is a fantastic project, especially for those who enjoy gardening as much as I do and also want to help out locally.
“I would encourage people to look to volunteer on this project and to find out how else they can get involved.”
