AHEAD of Carers’ Week on June 18, MP Iain Stewart visited a group of carers in Milton Keynes to show his support for their work.
The Milton Keynes South MP visited them at a garden workshop sponsored by Frosts Garden Centre. The workshop is one of the social events organised by the charity, Carers Milton Keynes for unpaid carers in the city, where they find rest and relaxation from their caring responsibilities.
Speaking afterwards, Mr Stewart said: “We could never place a price on all the work that carers do. I enjoyed spending time with them and listening to their experiences. They play a valuable role and I pay tribute to them as we celebrate Carers’ Week.”
Stephen Archibald, Chief Executive of Carers Milton Keynes added: “Carers have one of the hardest jobs and need our support; this gardening workshop is one of the ways we help to ensure that carers have a life outside their caring role.”
