City MP Mark Lancaster has been raising awareness of the importance of reading to school children across Milton Keynes.

Visiting over 30 schools in his constituency, Mark has been trying to encourage children to find enjoyment in reading and to do more of it.

World Book Day took place on the 7th March and saw the end of Mark’s tour where he has visited around 30 local primary schools over the past 6 months.

Mark said “Too often children today are watching television or playing computer games instead of enjoying reading a good book. It has given me great satisfaction to visit all of the schools who took part in my reading campaign and to see so many children taking such pleasure out of a simple story.”
