City MP Mark Lancaster recently visited the Age UK Furniture shop in Kiln Farm.
He met with volunteers who raise funds for Age UK by selling used furniture donated by local people.
Mr Lancaster said he was really impressed by the commitment of the volunteers, many of whom are users of the service, and also the quality of the furniture on offer.
He said he would like to encourage residents to pop down to the furniture store to see what they have on offer before they go and buy from a shop.
He said “The team in Kiln Farm are doing a fantastic job. Shopping at the Age UK Furniture Stores is a great way to support a local charity and save large amounts of money on furniture.
“I was really impressed by the quality and range of furniture they have down there and will certainly be looking there before anywhere else next time I have to buy furniture for my house, I would like to encourage you all to do the same.”
