RESIDENTS in Bradville took part in a Railway Walk Experience to build half a dozen cosy new homes for birds.

The event, which took place on Sunday, January 30, saw sturdy bird boxes for Blue, Coal and Great Tits and House and Tree Sparrows erected.

The boxes, constructed in the Millennium Gardens and along the estate’s Railway Walk, were decorated with the names of their builders and drawings of birds. The project was part of the Milton Keynes Railway Walk Experience Project, which has been awarded £65,000 of funding to improve the area. The money was given by WREN, a not-for-profit business that awards grants to various projects.

Community Project Officer Monique van Assouw said: “These people got involved because they are very interested in birds and do what they can to help these animals.”
