New herd of cows arrives in Milton Keynes

Travelodge has celebrated its new hotel opening in Milton Keynes by presenting the town with a new herd of life-size cows.

To celebrate the grand opening of Travelodge’s new hotel in the Hub, the company has gifted the town with a family of life size cows.

The cows, which include two adults and a calf, have had a bespoke outdoor meadow room built for them on the piazza outside the hotel.

The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Steve Coventry joined Travelodge UK development director Tony O’Brien, to officially open the hotel today and welcomed the herd.

Milton Keynes at the Hub Travelodge, was formerly a Ramada Encore hotel but over the last six months it has been modernised using a £1.2 million investment by the landlord.

The hotel and all 159 rooms have been updated in line with its contemporary new brand design not only this, luxurious king-size Travelodge dreamer beds have been installed to every room.

The hotel has a bar café that overlooks the piazza and water feature at the Hub.

In addition to the new hotel opening, the company is celebrating 18 years since Travelodge opened its first hotel in Milton Keynes.

Tony O’Brien, Travelodge UK development director, said: “We are delighted to open our biggest hotel in Buckinghamshire in the heart of Milton Keynes town centre at the Hub.

“It’s a prime location that will attract new business and leisure travellers, which is great news for the local economy.

“Our research shows that Travelodge customers will spend over £2 million with local businesses during their stay over the next year.

“Our recent investment in upgrading the customer experience and raising quality levels across our Buckinghamshire hotels is driving strong growth, significantly from business travellers.”

Hotel manager Tracey Williams, said: “We thought it would be a nice gesture to gift the town with a new set of cows to celebrate our new hotel opening 18th anniversary in Milton Keynes.

“The new cows are very happy in their outdoor meadow room and are a big hit with our guests and are making friends with the locals.

“The hotel has got off to a flying start, we are busy with business customers during the week and leisure travellers at the weekends.”
