STUDENTS took to the stands on Saturday as part of a Mock Trial Competition that took place across the country.
Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Debbie Brock, was on hand to officially open proceedings at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court on the day, with the city represented by pupils from Oakgrove School.
Students in turn prosecuted and defended a case of violence between siblings, and other members of each team sat in as magistrates, with a real magistrate in the chair.
Two recounts were needed to determine the final result on the day which saw the eventual winners announced as the Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School from Aylesbury, closely followed by the Wycombe High School for Girls.
They will now go on to the regional heat in May before the national finals in Birmingham in June.
