A FUN-LOVING pensioner is hoping to toss her way to victory in a pancake race – days before her 100th birthday.

Margaret Sharp will arm herself with a pan and pancake on Shrove Tuesday to race other residents across the lounge of her nursing home.

All the racers at Bletchley’s Caton House are over 80. But Margaret, who is 100 on March 23, is the oldest by far.

Team leader of the Sanctuary Care home Rob Clements said Margaret was more than capable of holding her own in a race.

“She has a walking frame and loves to wander around the house, chatting to residents and staff.

“She likes to walk around outside and is a very active, sociable and intelligent lady with a lively personality.

“I’m sure she’ll give our younger residents a run for their money on Shrove Tuesday.”

This week the Caton House crew were busy in the home’s kitchens – practising making their pancakes.
