Parenting class launched in the city

A new parenting and antenatal class is being launched in the Milton Keynes area, offering independent advice for expectant mums and their partners.

Birthpoint will be running private antenatal classes designed to give expectant parents the knowledge and skills to prepare for their pregnancy and birth journey ahead.

Co-founded by Rachel White, Birthpoint will run courses during the evening allowing the flexibility of a partner or family friend to attend the course. Run by trained staff, the course leaders have previously worked with other leading antenatal groups within the UK, and have all trained for at least three years to Diploma level.

A huge difference in the Birthpoint antenatal classes is that the class sizes are small with no more than 8 couples attending - and that the courses run during the evening unlike many other similar classes. Joining the course at the optimum time of between 28-32 weeks pregnant allows attendees to digest what they have learned and prepare for their new adventure ahead.

Courses run over a four week period, with each session lasting three hours, giving a total of 12 hours of totally independent, relaxed advice and information to help prepare for the exciting journey of parenthood.

Co-founder Rachel says “It can be pretty daunting when you fall pregnant. Whether expected or otherwise, women are often faced with a mired of questions and a list of jobs to do. Joining an antenatal course group is often high on the list of a couples priorities in their preparation for the birth of their baby, but joining a Birthpoint antenatal course offers our couples a more personal and friendlier approach to their antenatal learning.”

Rachel goes on to say “Many couples are put off from joining a group at all, often sighting large ‘corporate-style’, impersonal groups, the expense and irrelevant topics as the main reasons they don’t want to join. Birthpoint antenatal classes are designed with all these points in mind – so we have smaller groups, usually between 6-8 couples; cover the topics that are relevant and personal to you, and offer a one-price, cost-effective solution to antenatal courses.”
