A lorry passenger who died following a collision on the M1 south of Northamptonshire on Friday has been confirmed as a Northampton man.

The fatal incident occurred on the northbound stretch of the M1 between junctions 13 and 14 at around 7am on Friday.

The collision involved two articulated vehicles – a Renault HGV and a Volvo HGV.

The passenger of the Renault, a man from Northampton, was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Renault sustained injuries and was taken to the Milton Keynes General Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Volvo did not require hospital treatment.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information which could assist police are asked to call the investigating officer PC Sandra Terry via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
