Renowned city pastry chef Claire Clark MBE, will be joining a line-up of 100 of the UK’s best chefs for the Mince Pie Project.
It will include Michel Roux Jr, Lorraine Pascale, Frances Quinn, Tom Aikens and Raymond Blanc.
Claire’s famous mincemeat will be combined with a secret mix of spices and encased in homemade butter puff pastry, baked to perfection.
The Mince Pie Project returns for its third year, after raising an amazing £30,000 last Christmas. Each chef will create two boxes of signature mince pies of their own design. One box will be auctioned to the highest bidder; the second box will be put up for raffle, in which anyone can get involved with a £2 donation per ticket.
The Mince Pie Project will see which chef’s mince pies can raise the most money and come top of the leaderboard. Last year, Dan Doherty took the crown, raising a staggering £1,900 for his box of gingerbread-flavoured mince pies. How will Claire fare against the UK’s best chefs this year? The Mince Pie Project has decided to name FoodCycle and Kids Company as its two charities, to which all proceeds from the project will go.
