A city man will be cycling to as many away games following MK Dons this season.
Adam Faiers, Secretary of the MK Dons Supporters Association will be cycling to as many away games as possible during the 2012/13 season to raise awareness for the MK Dons Sports and Education Trust Disabled Football, and also the Redway School.
Adam has set an initial aim of cycling a minimum of 1000 miles, although the real target is nearer 2000 miles. Starting with ride of 66 miles to the Cheltenham game on August 11, through to the last game of the season at Stevenage, Adam is hoping to cycle the length and breadth of the country from Yeovil in the south to Carlisle and Hartlepool in the north.
During the season, Adam hopes that the blogs and updates will help to bring attention to the work that the MKDons Sports and Education Trust and the Redway School are doing for people with disabilities in and around Milton Keynes. Adam said ‘On Saturdays, people will be able to follow my rides to the games and see me suffering a bit, buts it the day to day work of the SET and the Redway School which is really inspiring. If people or companies are able to donate cash that is the icing on the cake. Hopefully, people will get involved’
Adam launched the project in July and has been posting his progress on training on Twitter and Facebook for people to follow. To date, he has already collected nearly £200 in sponsorship.
