Flying Scotsman to pass through Milton Keynes today

The nation's favourite locomotive will be passing through Milton Keynes at lunchtime today.

The 60103 locomotive is this morning on its way to visit the East Lancashire Railway and it can be seen at numerous stations along the mainline route.

It is due to pass through Leighton Buzzard at 12.39pm, Milton Keynes Central at 12.51pm and Northampton at 13.06pm.

The final stop will be Bury East Lanc, where it is due at 21.12pm.

The Flying Scotsman, operated by London North Eastern Railway. is an express passenger train service that has run between Edinburgh and Londonvia the East Coast Main Line.

The service started in 1862 but the Flying Scotsman name was not officially adopted until 1924.
