Almost 40 good causes in Milton Keynes are set to share in a major cash boost, thanks to the Co-op.

The 39 causes chosen - including Milton Keynes Christmas Party For The Elderly, Milton Keynes RUFC and Ride High - are set to receive vital funding to help deliver projects in their communities.

Last November, 39 causes in Milton Keynes shared £153,000, as part of the Co-op's Local Community Fund.

Projects chosen for the cash boost directly benefit from members trading with the Co-op across its food and funeral business areas.

Co-op members can decide how the money is allocated and are encouraged to select the causes they wish to support online.

Nick Crofts, president of the Co-op Council, said: “As a member-owned business with a presence in every community across the UK, the Co-op is continuing to create value for millions of members and thousands of local causes.”

Rebecca Birkbeck, director of Community and Shared Value at the Co-op, said: “Thanks to our members, since 2016, more than £56million has been raised for over 16,000 causes that make a real difference in their local communities."
