HUMAN rights activist Peter Tatchell will be among those present at next year’s LGBTQ General Assembly.

The event – the third of its kind – will take place at the Ridgeway Community Centre in Furzton on January 28, 2012.

It allows charities and other organizations that are interested in the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans-gender and Questioning) community to present what they do, seek support, sponsors and volunteers and coordinate their activities. Please find attached the programme and a poster for the event.

The event will combine healthcare, politics and spirituality presentations and an exhibition. In the afternoon, there will be a debate in which key members of the community will be able to answer questions, including Mr Tatchell and MP for Milton Keynes South Iain Stewart.

The afternoon will feature a showing of the film ‘House of Boys’, which is about life during the original outbreak of AIDS in the early eighties. That will be followed by a a cabaret evening with ‘Candy Slam’.

The event is being sponsored by Q:alliance’s HIV prevention project and Pink Punters. The role of the sponsors allows LGBTQ to have an event that is completely free and open to all.
