A CITY Mumpreneur 2011 Finalist was the Official Tricks Syntax Judge at the World Pole Sport and Fitness Championships Held in Budapest
The 3rd World Pole Fitness Championships, held on October 2, was the biggest global event in the Pole Sport and Fitness Calendar for 2011.
Previously held in Jamaica and Zurich, Switzerland, where Pippa Caesar from Polenastics was an official preliminaries judge, this 3rd Championships attracted global representation with 26 countries competing. Previously won in 2009 and 2010 by Felix Cane, who is now performing for Cirque Du Soleil.
The women’s preliminaries took place on Thursday, September 29, in order to whittle down the 35 global female entrants hoping to win their place in the final.
Pippa Caesar, from Milton Keynes was part of the preliminary judging team where unfortunately the two British competitors were knocked out. Competing for the UK was The Current British Champion and the world’s youngest Pole Fitness Instructor Jess Leanne Norris who has been running her own Pole Fitness School, JLN Pole Fitness, in Bolton since she was just 16 years old! And Justine McLucas the UK’s number two from London.
With 13 females through to the final, this year the competition also included a doubles category and a male competitor category. Pippa was the Tricks Syntax Co-ordinator for all of the performances in all three categories, writing each and every single move, trick and transition down for each of the five minute entries in all three categories. It was a pivotal and vital job at a competition like this in case of a tie situation and for the Best Tricks Awards in each category.
Pippa said “It was an incredible honour to be a part of the official judging team for this outstanding Championship. These competitors ensured I was pushed to the utmost limit as Pole Tricks Syntax Co-ordinator. My hand STILL aches from writing every move and trick from every performance on the night down for reference.
“Such a hard thing for the world renowned judges to assess as well, all the international judges were pushed to the limit! And we all LOVED IT.”
Earlier in September Pippa, who is a single mum, and entrepreneur earned herself a place in the final eight of The Mumpreneur Awards. Pippa is the Director at Polenastics Ltd, Pole Fitness and Dance School based in Newport Pagnell.
Polenastics has been teaching pole fitness and dance in Milton Keynes since 2003 and in February 2012 opened the doors to its own bespoke studio.
Despite losing out on the Female category at the preliminaries, the UK was well represented with Second place in the doubles category with Kate and Bendy from Spin City Pole in Bristol and with Second place in the male finals with Keem Martin from the UK.
