Have your say

Hate crime vandals ripped a religious shroud down from a flagpole and tried to burn it outside the city’s Sikh temple.

Police are now searching for the culprit and have appealed for the public to help.

The attack at the Ramgharia Sabha Sikh Temple in Keller Drive, Kiln Farm, happened at around 11.25pm on Friday.

Detective Constable Paddy Navin said: “The material was ripped away from the pole and there was evidence of an attempt to burn the material.”

He is keen to speak to a white man in a white shirt and dark trousers seen on CCTV in the area, and also a couple walking on the redway behind the temple.

Mr Navin said: “I am also appealing for members of the public who may have attended the Kiln Farm pub next door to the temple on the same night and who may have information which may assist in identifying the offender.

“Thames Valley Police takes hate crime very seriously and we will make every effort to track the offender and bring them to justice.”

Anybody with information should call police on 101.
