Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a burglar broke into a house in Pattinson Lane, Woolstone.

At approximately 6pm on Thursday, a local resident saw someone in his neighbour’s house.

As the resident approached the property, he saw the offender climbing out of the side window and shouted at him. The offender dropped a bag of personal possessions, climbed over another neighbour’s fence and then ran away empty-handed.

The offender is a man, in his twenties, 5ft 10ins, of stocky build with short dark hair. He was bare chested and wearing blue jeans.

Detective Constable Wendy Cissell, of Milton Keynes police station, said: “We would like to warn residents in the Woolstone area to be extra aware and to ensure that all doors and rear gates are locked and secure.

“We would like to appeal to passing motorists who may have been using the Newport Road, H7 and H6 roads which surround the area to call if they saw any person matching the description running away at that time.”

Anyone with information should call the Thames Valley Police 24-hour non-emergency single number 101 and ask to speak to Det Con Cissell.

If you don’t want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
