Police are appealing for the public’s help tracing a piece of evidence as part of an ongoing rape investigation.

They have issued a photograph of a pillowcase similar to that which was used in the attack on a woman at a property in Harrowden, Bradville on July 1 between 7am and 8am.

Officers are trying to trace the pillowcase which may have been thrown in the surrounding area.

Detective Constable Gary Huff, one of the investigating officers, said: “We are looking for anyone to come forward who may have found or seen the item. It is quite distinctive and would be easily remembered.”

A 21 year old man from Pennyland has been charged with rape in connection with this incident and is currently remanded in custody.
