Police witness appeal after man is racially abused


Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a racially aggravated public order offence in Middleton.

At about 8.15pm last Monday, a 24-year-old Chinese man was jogging around Willen Lake. As he walked back to his car, which was parked in Middleton, three Asian youths started being racially and verbally abusive and threw a large tree branch at him.

The victim ran back to his car and called police.

The youths are all between 16 and 20-years-old, slim, and wore dark clothing. Two were wearing baseball caps. When the victim first saw the group, they were stood under the underpass of the H6 at Willen Lake, where the mini-railway passes.
