A senior academic from Milton Keynes has taken up a top job with the Northern Ireland Assembly.
Dr Les Budd, reader in social enterprise at The Open University’s Business School based in the city, is the assembly’s new specialist advisor on economic policy.
The new role will see him undertake research into key issues affecting economic policy in Northern Ireland, and to help shape policy and legislation relating to a wide area of topics.
Dr Les Budd, said: “I am delighted to accept this post and look forward to working with the Committee in promoting the development of the economy of Northern Ireland.
“In an increasingly devolved post-Referendum UK, the role allows me to directly engage with a number of interesting challenges.”
