UKIP have selected their parliamentary candidate for the next election.
Vince Peddle will stand in Milton Keynes South, contesting a seat held by Conservative Iain Stewart since it was created in 2010.
Mr Peddle, who lives in the city and works locally as a senior design engineer, is also chairman for the MK South and Buckinghamshire branches.
He was chosen for the role at a selection meeting took place on Saturday.
A UKIP spokesman said: “The Milton Keynes South election campaign starts in earnest after next week’s party conference. Europe and immigration will be major national issues.
“As important will be dispelling apathy and interesting local people in politics again. UKIP’s strength lies in promoting local democracy, being straightforward and using common sense to tackle problems rather than ideology or Westminster rulings.”
