City MP Mark Lancaster has welcomed the news that the UK government is sending another £3million of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
It brings the total to £10million since the crisis started.
After more than 3 weeks of fighting, the death toll in Gaza is rising and more than 200,000 people, many of them children, have been displaced from their homes.
Mr Lancaster said: “I am utterly appalled at the situation in Gaza and we urgently need to stop the bloodshed.
“Whilst I know that the British Government is pressing for an unconditional and immediate humanitarian ceasefire the situation in Gaza is dire.
“This aid will get food to hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people and demonstrates that the UK Government is taking practical steps to alleviate the appalling suffering.”
