MARGARET Morris, head teacher of Knowles Infant School, has retired after 14 years in the role.

While head teacher at Knowles, Ms Morris led the school to be judged as ‘outstanding’ for its 2009 Ofsted inspection.

She also created the school’s motto, ‘Everyone is different, everyone is special’, a theme particularly inspired by the cultural diversity among the four to seven-year-old pupils.

Sophie Carr, deputy head teacher at Knowles, said she echoed the thoughts of the school’s staff by saying: “Margaret is extra special and always goes above and beyond the call of duty... she has been a truly inspiring head teacher”.

A children’s fun day and parent coffee morning were held at the end of Knowles’ summer term to say goodbye to the school’s head teacher.

Ms Morris, who was has taught in Milton Keynes for 32 years, will be passing on her knowledge and experience by working as a part time consultant for other schools in MK.
