Post 16 students at Walton High celebrate excellent academic results

Our congratulations go to the two students who will be taking up places at the University of Cambridge to study Mathematics.

Joseph Webber, who achieved 4 A* grades in his A levels and Harry Gross, with two A* and two A grades, will both be studying Mathematics at Trinity College.

Joseph said: “The support I’ve had here at Walton High is better than I could’ve believed, thank you so much for a great 7 years.”

Harry supported this and said: “Everybody has been so great and helped me to reach my goals.”

Isobel Hanna (A*A*AA) and Kristy Chow (AABC) were among those students who achieved two or more A*/A grades.

Harrison Caird will study Accounting and Finance at Kent and advised all students, ‘to work hard and not give up’.

Aicha Boudellioua will be going on to study Biomedical Science at Southampton University.

Twenty-two A Level subjects had a 100% pass rate with the majority of students gaining A*-B grades in Biology, Business Studies, English Literature, Fine Art, Geography, Mathematics, Music, Spanish and Textiles.

In particular, students at Walton High did exceptionally well in English Literature with 13 students achieving an A* or A grade.

Students’ performance in vocational courses continues to be amongst the best in the country with 86% of grades awarded being Distinction* or Distinction.

This demonstrates the commitment of students to their studies and the expertise of teachers in delivering vocational courses.

These results are allowing students who followed a vocational programme to pursue a wide variety of higher education and training opportunities.
