A live mouse was found in a loaf of bread bought by a pregnant woman.

Claire Odell returned home from shopping in Aldi’s Milton Keynes store on Tuesday to find the rodent inside the plastic packaging.

Her husband Andrew tweeted Aldi his disgust alongside a picture evidence of the incident, saying the couple were “extremely upset”.

He said: Cheers @AldiUK, just used your shop in Mk for the first time and last.

“Fortunately the mouse is fine, the same cannot be said for my heavily pregnant wife.”

Mr Odell added that he did not believe Aldi were taking the case seriously.

His tweet was retweeted 4,760 times, with many people concerned for the safety of the mouse.

Kyleigh-Rose said: “Please say you rescued the mouse and you’re gonna keep him forever.”

Ander Herrera said: “This compensation culture is everything wrong with this country today.”

An Aldi spokesman said: “Please be assured that the safety of our shoppers is Aldi’s number one priority.

“We have contacted the customer and will look into this as a matter of urgency.”
