Pub quiz and star-gazing: A week in the life of an MK scientist

Star-gazing sounds like a pretty normal activity for scientists – but what about a pub quiz?

The British Science Association in Milton Keynes combined both as part of its National Science and Engineering Week celebrations.

The association’s annual MK Science Pub Quiz was held at the Slug & Lettuce in Central Milton Keynes on Wednesday, March 20, before the scientists visited the Open University three days later to view the night sky.

The quiz night saw participants take on eight rounds of questions on subjects including general knowledge, music, TV and, aptly, science.

Professor Brian Cox said: “Last year we held a very successful star-gazing event. It was so popular we repeated it with Open University support.”
