TWO pupils at Radcliffe School have been recognised for their outstanding charity efforts.

Sam Pegram, 17, and 16-year-old George O’Gormley were entered into Rotary’s national Young Citizen 2011 Awards scheme.

This came after an initial approach from the chairman of Wolverton and Stony Stratford Rotary Club’s Youth and Vocational committee, Jim Barnes.

The pair were selected to receive citations in recognition of their hard work and dedication in organising many successful fundraising events both in the school and out in the local community.

Over the last few years George and Sam have raised hundreds of pounds for Willen Hospice and a number of other charities.

President of Wolverton & Stony Stratford Rotary Club, Barry Love, said “We are immensely proud of these two young lads and their dedication to fundraising.

The national Citations that they have received from Rotary amply demonstrate their strong commitment and positive approach to helping others.

“They are certainly worthy recipients of their awards and a credit to their school.”
