Radcliffe School announces major development plans

The Radcliffe School is set for major redevelopment over the next few years as part of its long-term plan for the future.

Following the sale of the Orchard Hall and adjacent playing fields for new housing, the Wolverton school has already installed a new security fence and state of the art all-weather sports pitches and tennis courts.

But there’s more to come as the school is now set to demolish the gym and construct a new entrance, media centre, sixth form area, and an extension to the dining hall.

There will also be a new indoor sports hall, a Cycle Skills Hub which will include a BMX track and mountain bike area, as well as a new pupil drop-off and pick-up area.

The proposals are as part of the school’s regeneration strategy which the Department for Education, Skills and Development suggested it delivered upon the sale of Orchard Hall in 2003.

To find out more about the redevelopment, Radcliffe is holding an exhibition on Thursday, September 19 from 3-8pm.
