Rail passengers from Milton Keynes planning an off-peak day trip to the Capital can now leave London later, get home quicker and travel for less.
Changes to London Midland’s £14.50 off-peak ticket means that passengers can now return from the capital using the 4.46pm train which arrives in Milton Keynes Central at 5.18pm.
Previously the last afternoon off-peak train left Euston at 1624, arriving in Milton Keynes at 1729. From Monday, May 19, returning Milton Keynes passengers can catch the 1646 and pay just £14.50 off-peak instead of the £38 standard return fare.
London Midland’s Head of West Coast Services, Barrie Cottam said “This is good news for Milton Keynes rail users.
“Not only can they have more time to spend in London, they can get home ten minutes earlier and travel on a lower priced ticket.
“In December we doubled the size of the 1646 train, providing 235 extra seats – a move that will continue into the summer”.
Off-peak tickets can be used on any train from Milton Keynes Central arriving into London after 10am and return journeys cannot be made on trains leaving Euston between 4.49pm and 7pm.
