Milton Keynes residents were gasping in awe at two amazing weather phenomena over the last few days.

Nicky Prince of Arts Gateway MK took a picture of a beautiful double rainbow that seemed to straddle the city centre on Saturday.

At the opening of the Arts Central creative hub in South Station House, Elder Gate, Arts Gateway MK chairman John Best joked: “All the visual artists fell about crying, it was so amazing.”

But that wasn’t the end of the city’s great weather show. On Tuesday night a thunderstorm brought torrential rain to Milton Keynes, including the MK Dons game against Carlisle.

Citizen photographer Colin Bridges took a cracking image of lightning over the stadium as heavy rain lashed down and thunder rolled around.

Colin said; “The game was so bad I was watching the sky!”

The Dons lost the game 1-0.
