City recruitment agency FS1 has adopted Milton Keynes Hospital’s Leo’s Appeal as a charity partner.
The appeal was launched last year and is raising £200,000 to enhance the children’s wards. The partnership was officially launched this week with FS1 staff receiving a special visit from the charity mascot Leo the Lion. They are already in full-swing with their fundraising for the appeal, with Director Adele Evans training for a half marathon this May.
Despite the gruelling training, Adele is looking forward to the half marathon as well as other events they have planned during the year.
She said: “FS1 is so pleased to have joined Team Leo, raising funds for what we consider such a worthwhile, local cause.”
Adele had a personal experience on the children’s ward last year.
She said: “We couldn’t fault the care my daughter received whilst at the hospital. But I know first-hand how frightening it can be for both children and parents – and I want to help provide children across my community with a more comfortable stay in hospital.”
Fundraising Manager Vanessa Holmes is delighted with the new partnership. She said: “We are thrilled to be working with a local company such as FS1! This partnership is giving Leo’s Appeal a real boost and will help make a tangible difference to children and families staying on our wards.”
Senior Sister Alison Turner can’t thank staff enough. She said: “Many thanks to staff from FS1 for pledging their support. Leo’s Appeal, it will make a huge difference to our youngest patients and their families.”
