FOR one couple in Milton Keynes, Valentine’s Day was definitely a night for romance.

Emi-Lu Daley from Hodge Lea was completely surprised when her boyfriend Neal Heasman decided to propose to her during their meal at Red Hot World Buffet in the Theatre District on Monday.

After seeing an advert inviting couples to propose at Red Hot in exchange for free food for a year, 27-year-old Neal chose to pop the question to Emma, 28, by planting a ring in a balloon and asking one of the Red Hot waiters to pop it.

The couple who have been together for two years claim Red Hot is their favourite restaurant in Milton Keynes, and therefore it seemed only fitting to confirm their engagement there. The couple have been friends for years and now work together at Frantic-UK.

Both the bride-to-be and other diners were completely amazed by the gesture, which left a tear in everyone’s eye.

Sandeep Manhaas, unit manager at Red Hot said: “We were really honoured when Neil contacted us to say that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend in our restaurant. It was such a romantic moment, and we were so thrilled that Emma said yes.”

The couple plan to get married in 2012.

To help hapless romantics, Red Hot also provided couples with Red Hot Hampers, which sold nearly 500 across the group.
