An investigation is underway to determine why a bus ‘exploded’ outside Milton Keynes bus station yesterday afternoon as the company insists it’s taking the situation ‘very seriously’.
It is understood the driver of the bus, owned by Aylesbury-based Redline, pulled over onto Elder Gate deliberately when he knew something was wrong with the vehicle and escaped unscathed.
There were no passengers on board and nobody in the vicinity was injured.
And now, 24 hours after the incident, Redline told the Citizen: “The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
“We take such incidents very seriously and a full and thorough investigation will take place.
“We take the maintenance of our buses very seriously and they are subjected to a rigorous regular programme to ensure the highest standards are met and maintained.”
