Kop Hill was first used for speed events in 1910 and an annual hill climb was held there until 1925 when a Bugatti car crashed and broke a spectator’s leg, leading to a ban on motor sport on public roads.

This year’s run was the sixth time that the local Rotary Club has held a commemorative run up the famous hill raising thousands of pounds for charity, and featuring a wide variety of cars and motorbikes ranging from 1912 up to 2014.
