BIKERS in Milton Keynes are being offered the chance to improve their riding skills.

Milton Keynes Advanced Motorists – MKAM – in conjunction with Thames Valley Police ‘Roads Policing’ Department will be running a ‘Better Riding Course’ throughout the month, beginning on Thursday March 10.

MKAM, who are affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists have been running similar courses at Milton Keynes since 1991.

The course is aimed at safer and defensive riding techniques to enable the rider to have a better understanding of the techniques taught by the police and other emergency services.

Rod Hardie, a retired police officer who served for many years as Traffic Police motorcyclist and currently a Senior Observer with MKAM, together with serving police officers and observers from MKAM will help present the course.

A spokesman said: “Together they bring a wealth of experience and good advice to the evenings.

“The course will include various presentations and videos to demonstrate these principles allowing for discussion and views.”

The course will also include a presentation by Bryn Phillips, the UK Product Support Manager of Dunlop explaining the development of the current range of tyres.
