A sex offender believed to have fled to India has been jailed for 12 months - despite not being in court.
Sreeramulu Rapuri, of no fixed abode, was found guilty in his absence and was sentenced on November 9 at Aylesbury Crown Court.
He will be put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.
The 32-year-old was in the Pink Punters Night Club on 7 September 2014 when he sexually assaulted a woman.
He was arrested on the night, charged and bailed, but failed to appear at court.
Investigator Samantha Arnold said: “I would like to thank the victim who showed great courage in attending court and giving evidence, together with the support given by members of staff, and security at Pink Punters.”
