The sound of sleigh bells can only mean one thing - Santa is on his way!

Santa’s helpers at Dobbies Garden World Milton Keynes are gearing up for the biggest, most magical event of the year – Santa’s Arrival on Sunday at 11.30am.

Santa will arrive in style by Victorian horse drawn carriage and lead a spectacular parade that will amaze and delight children incorporating Dobbies Little Seedlings Club, festive characters, live community music and performances.

One lucky local child has been chosen by Santa to arrive with him at the parade, after convincing the man in red that they’ve been very, very good this year!  Santa chose his winning arrival child from hundreds of children who entered the competition at Dobbies.

This year Dobbies Garden Centres is proud to support Action for Children, a charity which supports and speaks out for the UK’s most vulnerable and neglected children and young people.

All customers can help make a difference to Action for Children by making their own festive wish or leaving a seasonal message on Dobbies’ Wish Tree for a minimum £1 donation in-store.

Godfrey Ingram, Dobbies general manager, said, “Santa’s arrival is the biggest date in our events calendar and is fantastic fun for all the family. It is great to see the children’s faces light up when they see Santa arrive in style at Dobbies at this wonderful time of year.

Dobbies Milton Keynes is one of the area’s must-visit festive destinations over the Christmas period and Santa’s arrival is a firm favourite for all the community to come along, enjoy and get involved in. After the parade Santa will merrily be ho-ho-hosting his traditional grotto and will reside there up until Christmas Eve.

There will also be added entertainment throughout the day including face painting, children’s entertainment and tasty festive treats. For food lovers, Dobbies also has a delicious festive menu available in its restaurants from 14th November.

Godfrey said: “We are delighted to be supporting Action for Children as our national Christmas charity this year and would encourage customers to leave a wish on Dobbies Wish Tree. This small gesture will assist Action for Children in helping vulnerable children, not only at Christmas time but throughout the year. I hope that all customers will continue to donate and give generously to this great charity.”

Santa’s arrival also celebrates the opening of Santa’s Grotto, where children have the chance to visit him and be part of a truly memorable experience for all the family. Tickets for the grotto must be booked in advance from the information desk in-store and cost £5, this includes a gift from the man in red himself.
