Children at The Grove Independent School enjoyed a lesson in Bollywood dancing thanks to teenager dance expert Shona Shah.
The 16-year-old teaches Bollywood dancing to raise money for children’s charity Barnardo’s and was delighted to be given the chance to take her workshop back to the school and give children a lesson they will not forget.
The children were very excited to show off their colourful outfits, bangles and bindis, and perform their routines to their parents.
Head teacher Mrs Berkin said: “We were delighted to have Shona at The Grove teaching the children Bollywood, the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“Shona worked extremely hard and her efforts were showcased at the end of the week with a fantastic performance which was enjoyed by both parents and pupils.”
Shona said: “I really enjoyed teaching Bollywood dancing at The Grove once again. This was my third summer workshop there and the children never fail to amaze me with their talent and enthusiasm to learn.
“This year we even did Bollywood dancing to a Hip Hop song which the children really connected with and this really came across in the showcase.
“I love to teach because the children’s smiles make the hard work extremely worthwhile.”
