EAGER anglers cast off last weekend to raise money in memory of 12-year-old Jodie Morgan who died in 2010.
The Big Fish, a 48-hour competition, took place at Great Linford lakes, and even featured the sexiest man in soaps.
EastEnders’ heart throb Scott Maslen, a keen angler when he’s not in Albert Square, attended The Big Fish family fun day at Great Linford Lakes on Sunday.
After spending a couple of hours on the lake side fishing, Scott presented the prizes to the anglers who won the 48 hour fishing competition which was celebrated with the massive family fun day.
The event is the brainchild of Dom Morgan, who having lost his daughter Jodie last year, wanted to find a way to raise money for the Sick Children’s Trust and Addenbrooks Hospital, which gave his family so much support.
Great Linford Lakes will be the venue for The Big Fish for the next four years, generously donated by David and Nicola Marle, and Dom plans to make it bigger and better next year.
He said: “I am overwhelmed at the support given to us in our first year here by businesses and the people of Milton Keynes and wish to thank them for their much valued support.
“Fishing brings so many added benefits to those who take it up as a sport and I look forward to welcoming more children from Milton Keynes at our kids fishing camp at next year’s Big Fish.”
