40 firefighters tackled a blaze at a two-storey house in Church End, Newton Longville last night (August 22).

Firefighters were called to the blaze at 5.25pm.

The first floor of the house was severely damaged and South Central Ambulance Service treated a woman for smoke inhalation.

One appliance and crew from Bletchley, one from Broughton, two from Great Holm, one from Newport Pagnell, one from Buckingham, two from Aylesbury, the Incident Command Unit from Aylesbury and four officers attended.

Firefighters used two main jets, two hose reels and six sets of breathing apparatus.
