A “severe” house fire damaged two city homes yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters fought the flames that had engulfed two semi-detached three-floor houses in Gardiner Court, Blue Bridge at around 3.30pm.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious, said crews.

After using three main jets, one hose reel, a turntable ladder and four sets of breathing apparatus, firefighters continued to “damp down” the damage overnight.

No-one was injured.
