To help the Silk Road restaurant launch its new Sunday buffet, the restaurant will give £1 to Willen Hospice for each customer who eats there on Sunday, May 6.

The restaurant, which gives customers the option of choosing Indian or Chinese food, will give customers even more to choose from each Sunday with over 20 dishes to sample.

The owners have also announced that under sevens can eat for free to attract more families as well as putting on a free bouncy castle starting this Sunday. The price per head for adults is £9.95.

Co-owner Samad has a personal affiliation with Willen Hospice through his late father and wanted to mark his new offering with a special appeal for the charity. He said: “The work Willen Hospice does is incredibly important but they need money to keep going, so if we raise a couple of hundred pounds that is a good start.”

The Silk Road has also recently undergone a slight refurbishment to continue the service and great atmosphere that has seen it become one of the City’s longest established restaurants since opening in 2004
