A CITY restaurant is well on its way to raising £4,000 for Children In Need.

The Silk Road restaurant and bar teamed up with London Midland to raise money for the children’s charity by selling raffle tickets to busy commuters at Milton Keynes Central Train Station on Friday.

Each ticket cost just £1 with prizes from a bottle of bubbly to a meal for four up for grabs.

On Friday the team from the Silk Road were joined by Pudsey the Bear as well as staff from London Midland who were selling cakes and goodies to raise money.

Restaurant Manager Hoq Abdul said, “We would like to thank everyone who has purchased a ticket so far and our customers who have helped us reach this fantastic amount. This week is our last chance to raise those extra funds, so make sure you pop in to the restaurant to get your ticket.”

Tickets will remain on sale at the restaurant until Friday this week and the winners will be announced on the restaurants facebook page fb/silkroadmiltonkeynes .
