OLYMPIC silver medal swimmer Sharron Davies praised the 14 “extraordinary ordinary” people from Milton Keynes who were chosen to carry the Olympic Torch.

Sharron is pictured at a SportsAid dinner on Monday with Rebekah Wagnell, 16, from Shenley Brook End, and Allan Grainger, from Eaglestone.

Rebekah, who carried the Torch in Aylesbury, won three silver and two gold medals at the World Transplant games after receiving a life-saving kidney from her dad, Paul. Former Scottish international boxer Allan has been involved with MK Academy Boxing Club for many years.

More than £20,000 was raised for SportsAid.
